Today, the provincial government announced funding for hardest hit sectors by the pandemic in a press release titled: MANITOBA GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCES $1 MILLION IN FUNDING TO SUPPORT ECONOMIC RECOVERY OF SECTORS HARDEST HIT BY COVID-19
In this press release, part of the funding announced stated:
“The minister noted four organizations will each receive $250,000 for projects that address their sector’s specific labour market needs:
- The Manitoba Restaurant and Foodservices Association will provide working capital grants to eligible businesses in the restaurant industry to assist with costs related to their recruitment initiatives. The organization will also develop a marketing campaign to support the recruiting efforts of these businesses and promote the industry to prospective employees.”
The MRFA thanks the Province for this funding and would like to clarify that the RR Grant previously announced, opened, and closed for applications in April, as well as the ongoing marketing campaign with links to our Job Board, are the campaigns and grants that have been funded by this funding.
Additional information which may be useful to members from this press release includes new intake for the Canada Manitoba Job Grant, which can be found here: https://gov.mb.ca/jec/busdev/financial/cmjg/index.html
The MRFA is continuing to advocate on behalf of our members for the initiatives and aid we know they need now and throughout recovery.
