The City of Winnipeg has announced it has opened applications for a second round of its Economic Support Grant.

Eligible small businesses and non-profits can receive $1,500 in a non-repayable grant to be used for rent, utilities, wages, personal protective equipment (PPE), sanitizing equipment, or other business expenses incurred.

From the City’s webpage:

In December 2020, the City of Winnipeg launched the Winnipeg COVID-19 Economic Support Grant Program to assist Winnipeg small businesses and not-for-profit organizations that were forced to prohibit access to their premises due to COVID-19 public health restrictions that went into effect on November 12, 2020. The City initially distributed a total of $3 million to eligible local businesses and organizations with funding provided by the federal Safe Restart Agreement. In response to further public health measures announced by the Province on May 7, 2021, the City has contributed an additional $3 million to the Economic Support Grant Program in order to assist businesses and not-for-profit organizations that are impacted by these recent restrictions.
