My Fellow Foodies,

As we enter another spectacular Manitoba summer and increased vaccination rates among fellow Manitobans, we now face that undeniable question, “what does our industry recovery look like?”

The last 15 months of the Covid-19 pandemic has tested our patience, pushed our tolerance for the unimaginable, and forced you to turn your businesses into everything from a delivery business to a grocery store.

During the pandemic, the MRFA team has made it our clear and dedicated goal to advocate on your behalf and be your information lifeline, striving to be there to help you clear each hurdle we came up against, each one seeming higher and harder to clear than the last. I cannot start to express the unwavering respect that each and every member has earned both from me and my team. but the many Manitobans who rode the SAVEMBRESTAURANTS hashtag to show their support.

So I again ask the question: how do we market our recovery? Our conversations with our elected leaders have been positive but we need action and as we expedite our reopening. To begin to tackle this hurdle, the MRFA is developing a marketing plan that will engage Manitobans through excitement, education, and ensure survival of our vibrant restaurant industry.

Lead by our Chairman Tony Siwicki and our passionate board of directors, I assure you that this will be a summer you will not soon forget both in sales, guests, and future of our industry.

The patios are open and the first drink is on me.
