Dear members,

We are aware that the progression of the COVID-19 virus is currently raising many questions and ever growing concerns on the viability of our industry in the future. Your MRFA team is taking this situation very seriously, closely monitoring industry trends to assist in a long term industry survival plan. First and foremost, our priority is to protect the health of our employees, ensure operational continuity and play our role as your voice of industry to the public, creating support and confidence in a safe and enjoyable dining experience.

Keeping our members viable is the MRFA’s top priority for the long term. We have advocated for a series of long term programs in the last month, including wholesale liquor pricing, PPE subsidies and long term support programs that will allow for Manitoba’s restaurant industry to remain successful and diverse for the future.

Despite this situation’s exceptional nature, we will continue to offer no charge membership for all new restaurant members for the remainder of 2020 to ensure our Manitoba restaurant scene remains the best in Canada for years to come. A recent survey sent to our membership about provincial programs yielded some valuable and realistic feedback that we can share with the Premier on how the Province can better assist our industry. As other industries continue to adapt, the food service industry continues to set the benchmark on staff and customer safety, and together we will rise above and beyond.
