The COVID-19 pandemic is unprecedented in its scale and the challenges it presents.

Our thoughts and prayers are with those who have fallen ill and the families of all those affected, as well as with the health and essential workers battling this pandemic.

I’m often asked: what is the MRFA’s top priority during this time? The answer is the health, safety and well being of our employees, customers, partners and people around us. That’s our number one priority.

From the outset we established a dedicated line of communication with fellow organizations and our partners in Government to establish a clear message on how our industry has been affected.

During this troubled time, we have continued to show how adaptable our industry can be and I am proud of how we our members have maintained dignity, passion and drive to remain viable.

As the dedicated voice of the food service industry in Manitoba, we have a role to play in educating the public and our members. We’ve continued to provide frequent updates to members and non members alike, allowing us to move forward as fast as possible with the utmost focus on safety for our patrons and staff.

As we move towards the new normal, my continued focus will be the integration of a viable and sustainable new normal and reinstatement of our passion for fellowship both in and outside our restaurants.
